Whats the latest update number, please?
Mine version is 2.3.43 and when I go to check for updates it says there is one (10.6 meg) but the info of that update says it is dated Nov 18 2005 which I don't believe is correct.
Over to you Jon or Terry
Peter

Hmm...
Hello Peter,
At least you have the latest. My version ends in .40 and not .43
I'll have to take a look at that.
Tks...

Hi guys,
I missed this, as I left on a road trip on Aug 1 and connections were spotty at times... I didn't get here to see if there were any new messages.
Before I left my version showed as 2.3.43
When I would look for updates, I would see one that was 3.5 mb but I kept seeing that for awhile. It would download and then come right back as a new update message. Jon was aware of that.
Just now, while in the middle of this message, I tried the update feature and it seems to have worked. I've now got version 2.3.6
and will go and see if I see anything different in there. _________________ Terry - volunteer forum monitor |

Ok, I've tried out the newer version (2.3.6) today and haven't seen anything that's new yet. It could be that it fixed problems that others were having? _________________ Terry - volunteer forum monitor |

I have just looked at my PE and I have 2. 3. 43 and when I ask for updates it says, 'You have the latest update', so where is 2. 3. 6?

Tricia,
I guess you have to keep trying. I was getting a notification that there was an update available for awhile, but each time I downloaded it, there wasn't a change.
I'm glad to hear that Peter too got the update. _________________ Terry - volunteer forum monitor |

This was very confusing. The latest version is 2.3.43. In our software, the 2.3.6 is actually lower than 2.3.43 and therefore an older version.
All I can think of is that once in a while, our web hosting company must reload an incremental backup where they first reload a full older backup and then overlay a smaller -changes only- backup later.
This was shown to be the case at rare times, possibly when a server went down and they had to reload a new one. I would rather the update not be available for a period of time rather than give out wrong updates. It is difficult to get large hosting companies to change their procedures.
I did try the update today and I received 2.3.43. Let me know if you are still getting 2.3.6. |

Jon,
I just asked for an update and downloaded one.
I'm now back to 2.3.43 again. _________________ Terry - volunteer forum monitor |

Just downloaded latest update (3.6meg) and guess what? now back to
2.3.43.
Very confusing especially with the numbering system
Now, when I went to school a long time ago, 4 was before 6.

Hi Jon,
I think you need to check your web hosting company because I was notified of a new update, loaded it and found it to be the dreaded 2.3.6 again
Back to 2.3.43 again

I found an older version of the Passage.exe in the Beta folder. So, apparently (unless I hear otherwise), only those with beta testing license numbers were having the problem.
Oh great! Let's punish the fine folks who were kind enough to do some beta testing for us.
I apologize for this problem.
Oh and BTW, 4 does come before 6, but 43 comes after 6. That is the way our versioning software is producing the version number. It would have certainly been less confusing if it would have been 2.4.06, instead. |
