An update for the Family Tree Maker feature of Passage Express has been posted. This is specifically for Family Tree Maker 2010.
To take advantage of this feature, do a Check for Updates by clicking on the Help drop-down menu of Passage Express and then click Check for Updates. Your automatic Check for Updates should also alert you of a new update.
Here are the general instructions on how to get Family Tree Maker 2010 working for you...
If you purchased before March of 2007, you will first need to do a Check for Updates to make sure you have the current "Check for Updates" program that will then recognize this new number. (This will not apply to you if you have just downloaded the most recent version) If you have purchased since March 2007, this won’t be necessary. You can find the Check for Updates under the Help drop-down menu within the Passage Express Program.
Next, replace your license number with the one that was provided to you. If already own Passage Express and you want an FTM import license for Passage Express, just send your request to support@passageexpress.com.
You can find the license under the Help drop-down menu; click the Licensing link.
Next you will need to do a Check for updates that will then recognize the new FTM number and download the necessary components.
NOTE TO Family Tree Maker 2008/2009/2010 USERS:
After doing the update, open and close Passage Express one time. This will create the files necessary for FTM 2008/2009/2010 to recognize the plugin.
Open FTM 2008/2009/2010 (close it first if it is open) and it should now recognize the plugin.
The FTM 2008/2009/2010 import will be initiated inside Family Tree Maker 2008/2009/2010. Click on these menus and selections in the order shown:
Tools -> Plugins -> Export with Plugin… -> Passage Express. You will be prompted on what to do from there.
Note: Normally you do not need to shut down Passage Express for this to work, but in case Passage Express does not recognize the import process by opening a small window asking you to name your new project, shut down Passage Express and let the Family Tree import ‘open’ it. |
