Hi to All,
I have found a new program, that works great with Passage Express, that I wanted to make you aware of. It's called The Complete Genealogy Reporter and can be found at this link http://www.tcgr.bufton.org/index.html
"The Complete Genealogy Reporter enables users of genealogy software and websites to create comprehensive narrative reports and hyperlinked web folders from the contents of a standard GEDCOM file. The output may be configured to incorporate some or all of the people and families recorded in the GEDCOM file. As of this week they have added hyperlinks to the .pdf output.
This is a great way of creating .pdf files and add them to your Passage Express CD's. You can download a 30 day FREE EVALUATION! at the link above.
Just thought some of you might be intrested in knowing about this program.

Hello Louise,
Thanks for the information on the narrative report software. From a cursory look at the details on their web site it appears that my current genealogy software "RootsMagic" generates all of the referenced reports, charts, etc. And outputs them to PDF format. I have found these capabilities to be very useful in my own work and have successfully incorporated such work into my Passage Express projects numerous times. _________________ Bernie |

Hi Louise,
Thanks for sharing the information. I find one of the best features of Passage Express is its ability to make use of .pdf files.
I use a program called PaperPort to keep myself organized and all the different types of files for a project in one place. It allows me to print anything to a .pdf file, so I use it often for reports that I want to print just the same way each time.
My main program for genealogy is Brothers Keeper. It creates great charts and reports and will also produce web pages if I want them.
I can use any of the reports from Brothers Keeper in Passage Express by printing to .pdf
I have also used PAF with the companion Chart program to produce a great Fan Chart (that's the one I don't have with Brothers Keeper.)
The ability to print .pdf files is an important one for me. Many of the genealogy programs will do it as will a lot of word processors. There are also a few free converters available. _________________ Terry - volunteer forum monitor |

Taken a PDF file into Adobe Photoshop and very slightly altered it and now the file size is absolutely massive? I had to fill in a PDF form and marked it slightly with tick boxes via the paintbrush facility. Now the file size is over 6MB which is just absurd. How do I resume it to a reasonably small size? Also does anyone know how to combine 2 pages as a PDF document rather than having them as 2 separate files? _________________ DJ Chuck T mixtapes
