I imported the front page of my presentation into the DVD menu creator. I have 8 DVD movies that I created in the slideshow tool. When I try to assign a function to a button on the DVD menu page, a window pops up with a list of the available slideshows. They have what looks like an internal file name in the list, and then it seems to be trying to replace that with the name of the slideshow. It will change the first and sometimes second one, then hang and I have to terminate the program.

I've tried leaving it for 5 or 10 minutes to see if it is just slow, and there is plenty of CPU and memory available when this is happening. The movies are mostly under 5 minutes (one is 10 minutes) and have background music but no narration.

Any advise?

Thanks!

Hi,

The menu button on the DVD menu are different than those on the regular project menu. Each button will take the viewer to a different slide show. You do not need an exit button.

I usually keep the background but remove the existing button, then add new ones for the slide shows. The hardest thing for me to remember is to assign a number to the slide show, but the program does prompt you if you've forgotten too.

When you are assigning a slide show to a button, there isn't a confirmation sound (maybe that's needed?) but it has taken place.

If you are making a regular project but using a DVD to take advantage of the size, rather than for viewing on a TV, you would not make a new DVD menu, but would use the one you've already got. This type of DVD would be for computer use not DVD player.

Hope that helps a bit?

Hi -

I tried removing all the button and reimporting the image into the DVD menu tool, then adding a button. The button adds fine, but I get the same result when I select choose function for the button. It brings up the pop-up window but hangs trying to populate it with the names of the movies in my project so I'm never able to select one.

Thanks for your help!

Is there any chance that your file names have something in them that is causing a problem? Sometimes things like & or another symbol can bring unexpected results.
