|
|
In the December 5th "Announcement" from "passagee" I have read that the latest program update has fixed the problem of text used in Text Slides in slideshows. The announcement says "Text slides in slideshows now hold the selected Font." I have not found that to be the case.
I have downloaded the latest update(s) and am now running Version 2.3.1 but continue to have the stated problem. Since downloading and installing the latest update(s) I have again tried to change the text fonts but with the same lack of success as in the past.
In creating my slide shows I have added a number of text slides scattered throughout the slide show. But no matter how I try I am not able to change the font which is displayed on the text slides when they are played in the slide show. During the editing process of changing text slide fonts the desired font is always displayed in the edit screen. Then I save the changes and view the slide show by using the "Test Project" function. The text on all of my text slides remains unchaged and always appears as some default font.
This is the same problem that I have previously reported on this forum and which was confirmed by several forum users as well as passagee. What am I missing? _________________ Bernie |

Thanks, Bernie.
We believed that we had corrected it completely but apparently not. We'll check into it.
Thanks,
Loretta |

Hello Bernie,
I have been trying this on my computer and it seems to keep the correct font. Could you tell me what font or fonts you are using and I'll try them.
Thanks! |

I want to use "AucoinExtBol" but I would be satisfied with one of several others. I have been unable to use any font other than the default font which always shows when I play the slide show.
By way of background . . . . . . I have created a project which contains about 9 seperate slide shows. Each slide show contains photos from a port-of-call during an October 2006 cruise. After creating a seperate folder full of photos for each port I then created a slide show for those photos and the slideshow resides within the same folder with the photos from that port. Each slide show has it's own music track background which plays during the show. The menu for this project is a photograph of the Mediterranean and all of the ports we visited. I have made the name of each port on the map a "button" which when clicked initiates the slide show for that port.
Aside from some initial minor problems getting the music tracks synchronized this project plays perfectly. But I have never been able to get the desired fonts to display on the text slides which are contained within the slide shows. I have even deleted the text slides and tried creating them anew. But the results have always been the same. _________________ Bernie |

I would be most willing to send a copy of my project if you think it would help you better understand my problem and, hopefully, find a solution. _________________ Bernie |

I have been doing some additional analysis of my text slide font problem and I have the following additional information to provide.
When I am at the “Slideshow Creator” screen and I view my text slides in the thumbnail view at the left the font appears correctly as I have selected it to be. While still at the “Slideshow Creator” screen if I click on the “Test Run” tab (next to the Options and Movie tabs) and then view the slideshow the font on the text slides also appear correctly as I have selected them to be.
But when I am at the Passage Express “project screen” - - the screen with the “Build Project”, “Design Menu”, “Publish”. “New”, “Open”, “Test Project”, “Options”, “Exit”, etc. - - when I click on “Test Project” it opens my Menu Screen. Then when I click on the button to begin a slideshow the slideshow begins. However in this “Test Project” mode the fonts on the text slides are not correct. Furthermore when I burn an autoplay disk with the project the fonts on the text slides are not correct when the project disk is played.
Still puzzled. _________________ Bernie |

Jon & Bernie,
I just tried the text fonts in a slide show too.
As Bernie said, it didn't show the new font on the "test the project"
but I found it did show the color change.

Hello Bernie,
I've been working with your project. I can tell that the fonts did not hold for you, but when I add or change the font, it does hold for me. I will send you an email with the 'runme.exe' that I am using that you can install on your computer. This is the program, as you may know, that runs the "Test Project" and that interprets the fonts. I am wondering if your "Check for Updates" is not grabbing the runme.exe for some reason. Jefferson did find a problem with the runme.exe that you should have gotten in a previous auto-update.
Jon
P.S. That is a magnificent project of your travels! |

That did the trick Jon. Downloading and installing the new runme.exe file resolved my problem. Works great now. Thanks for all your help. Perhaps this solution will also be of interest to other users. I believe there were several other users who commented they had the same problem. Including Terry. Thanks again. _________________ Bernie |
