Seems that there is a version 10 of Media Player that *maybe* is not compatible with PE and mpg video clips.
I got this version 10.00.00.3646 when I updated my operating system on this recently purchased computer -- I don't *know* that it is the problem, but I get some messages that lead to installing "Windows Media Format 9 Series Runtime files", and said installation does not solve the problem -- it keeps running this same loop.
Until staff gives us more info, I would recomend that you don't download it if you are tempted..

No problems here with WMP 10.00.00.3646 and PE.
(For staff: I think it's a handy feature that you can view the movie file from within PE.) |

For actual videos, none. Haven't gotten around to converting home movies yet since the majority are actual film, not video, and I haven't found a good, relatively probably spam! way to do so. The slideshows I've been playing with are simple little Windows Media files.
Now, I did try to add a Quicktime movie file to PE and it gave me an error message about a missing DLL and needing to update Windows Media Player -- that I think needs to be fixed. WMP doesn't play Quicktime files, does it? |

This is only when the project contains a video, like .avi.
I get some messages that lead to installing "Windows Media Format 9 Series Runtime files", -- it keeps running this same loop. |

You get this message for .avi files?
Which version of WMP are you using?
