Hi... I have just purchased a new desktop computer. My original copy of PE resides on my laptop and I hope to give that one a badly needed rest. My question is regarding getting a working copy of PE on this new machine. I do not wish to purchase another working copy of the program but I do want to either transfer it from my laptop or just get a new running copy on my new PC. Every software company has different ideas on this. Any help greatly appreciated.
Tks...

Hi Steve,
Do you still have your original installation and codes? You could try bringing it over - or you could try downloading the trial and then putting your code in. If that doesn't work, I'm sure you can get an update from customer service. There's no question (in my mind) that you should be able to move the program to a new computer.
Does the new computer have Vista? If so, tell us how that's working out for you. _________________ Terry - volunteer forum monitor |

Steven, If I remember right, here is how I moved my program to a new computer:
1. You will need a flash drive or cd-rw.
2. Open "My Computer" and double click on your hard drive (C) to open files.
3. Double click on "Programs" folder.
4. Find the folder for "Passage Express" and "copy".
5. Paste the "Copy" of the "Passage Express" folder to your flash drive or cd-rw.
6. Go to your new computer, open "My Computer", open your hard drive as above and open your "Programs" folder as above.
7. Paste the copied "Passage Express" folder from the flash drive or cd-rw to the "Programs" page you have open.
8. After the transfer has been completed, double click on the "Passage Express" folder and check to be sure you have all the files from the transfer (I have 86).
9. If you want, you can put a shortcut on your desktop here. Go to the icon "Passage.exe", right click and click on "Create Shortcut". The shortcut will now be on your desktop.
Hope I haven't missed anything.

Thanks folks...
I was able to get things rolling on the new system. I was more concerned about the EULA than anything else. Jon sent me an email and now all is well.
