Hi Dennis,
I find the burning process to be unpredictable sometimes, but sometimes there's just no way to figure out why I got an error.
In the past I've found that IF I've had a problem, it often helps to restart the computer. Some programs leave bits of themselves open and it just makes it smoother to get a fresh start. If I've run into trouble, I also look to see what programs are running (from the start up) that may not be needed for what I'm doing now.
There's also the problem that can crop up with certain brands of disc.
It doesn't seem to make sense, but certain brands will not work with certain computers... I know one computer that will not accept Maxell brand cds and another that will not read or write to Memorex.
A friend's stand along DVD player will not read certain CDs.
If you t hink that might be the problem, you can try looking it up at

If you detect one of the compatability problems, you should report it there, so they can add it to the database.
Passage express has been one of the more reliable burning programs for me. I have more trouble with the Sonic copy program that came with the computer. _________________ Terry - volunteer forum monitor |
